ASSIGNMENT

Submitted by
Albert John Thomas
I am writing this assignment from my experience with my nephew Evan. He
is now three months old
I am writing from my observation about him till he was two months old
since then I have not met him.
I used to meet him weekly. He is my maternal uncle’s grandson and the
family they are staying nearby in Kothanur. I meet them weekly and I have
noticed some things.
When he was almost 2 weeks old and I took him in my hands, he grasps my
fingers tightly. By the second week, he got a cradle which had many buttons
and switches, where if a button is pressed if with physical touch, sound
comes and some light is also there in that thing. So, I don’t know if he does
this intentionally, but when he is in that bed, his leg touches these buttons
and when that happens, he laughs and he turns his head to the sound from
where the sound and light is coming. Also, I noticed this he started
following the object when we go near him and when we look at him and we
move our fingers he looks at the fingers this is while he was almost 2
months old. Also, by this time, he kind of knows who are the people he is
closest to I think, because when someone else comes and take him he
knows where his mother is, if she is near, he looks at the other position
where his mother is seated. He also likes music. One thing about that is
every day he wakes up by hearing his grandfather singing Christian
devotional songs. Every day he wakes up by 5:30. He sleeps by 10/11 PM
and he is getting enough sleep and he sleeps early and wakes up early.
when he hears his grandfather singing so it is so beautiful that he
recognizes that (I do not know if he knows that someone who is closer to
him), but he recognizes the song like that is music. He turns his and he
enjoys with a smile on his face.

This is what I have noticed in the two months oh his development after that
I was not able to meet him so I do not know that how he is the last month.
