On Monday, March 25, 2024 the Jackson Police Department began investigating a Homicide that
occurred in the 3500 block of Ridgecrest Dr. Detectives learned that the victim was shot multiple times at
this location. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Update: The victim in this case has been identified as 14 year old black male Cameron
Horne-Crook of Rankin County. His next of kin has been notified.

Update: On March 27, 2024, Jackson Police Department Detectives with assistance
from Rankin County Sheriff’s Department and Pearl Police Department arrested suspects
white male Maxle MOONEYHAM-16 years old and black male John Foote-17 years old of
Rankin County. They are charged with MURDER in connection to this case.
