The PRITZKER PRIZE is a international architecture
award presented annually “to honor a living architect or
architects whose built work demonstrates a combination
of those qualities of talent , vision and commitment ,
which has produced consistent and significant
contributions to humanity and the built environment
through the art of architecture .Founded in 1979 , by Jay .
A. Pritzker and his wife Cindy .It is considered to be one
of the world’s premier architecture prizes , and is often
referred to as the Nobel Prize of Architecture.
TATE MODERN

entirely new vertical accent to the horizontal
layout that characterizes the city of Hamburg.

❖ It is the emblematic of Australia in it’s

food .

MAGNEY HOUSE
❖ Location : Southeast Australia
❖ Architect : Glen Murcutt
❖ Mode of building : Residential House.
❖ Construction completed on 1984.
❖ Magney house has since been nominated by the
Australian Institute of Architects for a place on the
International Union of Architects’ World Register of
Significant 20th Century Australian Architecture.
❖ Magney House is celebrated as one of Australia’s
most influential and inspiring pieces of residential
architecture, with the thoughtful nature of
Murcutt’s design, it has set the standard for
architecture south of the equator and for the
use of sustainable materials and resources
that are proven to last.
SYDNEY OPERA
HOUSE
❖ Location : Banks of Sydney Habour , Australia .

❖ It is widely regarded as one of the world’s most famous and


distinctive buildings and a master

Piece of 20th century architecture.

BAGSVAERD CHURCH
❖ Location : Copenhagen , Denmark
❖ Architect : Jorn Utson.
❖ Mode of building : Lutheran Church.
❖ Designed in 1968 and it was completed in
1976.
❖ The building is considered to be
a masterpiece of contemporary
church architecture, especially its
bright, naturally illuminted interior
and its ceiling straddled with softly
rounded vaulting.

the dock in the area benefitting from

❖ Location : Sao Paulo

❖ Another name: The chapel of saint peter
❖ It is a concrete structure with large ,
doubled – height glazed walls, again
❖ The building’s interior spaces are
articuled around a central concrete which
in turn supports a series of platforms
designed for various purposes.

❖ continued with inside – out architecture
❖ To create the large, column spaces
required by the microchip factory , the
building’s roof is supported by blue
painted towers made from tubular
steel that are positioned along the
centre of its roof .
LOUVRE ABU
DHABI
❖ Location :Abu Dhabi, UAE
❖ Architect : Jean Nouvel (Pritzker prize
winner of 2008)
❖ The Louvre Abu Dhabi's unique
exhibition design explores the
connections between civilizations and
cultures that might at first seem to be far
apart in time and geography. Visitors are
guided through a chronological and theme-
based display traversing different periods
and civilizations.

TORRE GLORIES
❖ Location: Barcelona , Spain
❖ Architect : Jean Nouvel
❖ It opened in June 2005 and was officially
opened by King Juan Carlos I on 16
September 2005. It is one in a collection
of high-tech architecture examples in
Barcelona.
❖ The tower is 144.44 m high with a
diameter of 39 m.

Graubunden Canton in Switzerland, The
Therme Vals is a hotel and spa in one which
combines a complete sensory experience

SERPENTINE
PAVILLION
The Serpentine Pavilion 2011 by Peter
Zumthor was the architect's first
completed building in the UK and
included a specially created garden. At the
heart of Zumthor's Pavilion was a garden
that the architect hoped would inspire visitors
to become observers.
NEW ART MUSEUM
• The New Museum, designed by Tokyo-
based architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue
Nishizawa/SANAA, is a seven-story,
eight-level structure located at 235
Bowery between Stanton and
Rivington Streets, at the origin of
Prince Street in New York City.

ROLEX LEARNING
CENTER
❖ The Rolex Learning Center is the campus
hub and library for the École polytechnique
fédérale de Lausanne, in Lausanne,
Switzerland. Designed by the winners of
2010 Pritzker Prize, Japanese-duo SANAA,
it opened on 22 February 2010
