 We must eat enough food to stay healthy.

A balanced diet is one that contains all of the essential
elements that the human body needs.

 The food pyramid is a visual representation of how
different foods contribute towards a healthy balanced
diet.

 It suggests that a person should eat more from the


bottom of the pyramid and fewer foods from the top
list of the pyramid.

 Humans need a balanced diet that includes a


variety of foods like;

Proteins Growth and tissue repair of


the body.
Vitamins and Minerals Provides immunity to fight
against diseases.
Fats Gives energy

Fibre Keeps digestive tract


healthy

It helps us to make healthy and safe choices about what
we eat.

It gives us the scientific information about the content and
nutrient present in a food along with its quantity.
