“What Facebook wants is your data. And it already has it. Facebook wants to know your age, gender, religion,
marital status, hometown, level of education and general interests so that it can better target advertisements
to you. You have almost certainly already given it this information.” While reading this article, it talks about
how facebook's main goal is to gain data on their users to better cater ads to each profile on facebook.
Facebook lacks privacy for each user and this article proves it.

When reading this article I learned that you can click “why are you showing this
ad” on facebook to understand why that ad is being shown to you. Facebook uses
your age, hometown, marital status, school, etc. to cater your ads to you. A way to
keep some privacy from facebook would be to not fill in these sections on your
profile.

During this ted talk I learned that the internets algorithms go through so many ads
before they conclude on the ones they show on your pages. When downloading
an app, if fearful of information being shared by facebook, read the rules
presented to your very early on. Facebook discloses with you about them using
your information for ads.

I learned about SIFT during this article. SIFT stands for stop, investigate the
source, find better coverage, and trace claims. Knowing this information, it is easy
double check the information your posting/ friends are posting/ on your feed.
