Industrial Exposure / Internships & Projects

Nettech Networking Academy Attended a 15-day course on Computer Networks Management at Nettech Networking Academy, Kolkata Centre in July 2010. Cisco Networking Academy Successfully completed a course on computer networks (Phase-I) under CCNA, MIT Manipal, during Sep 2010-Jan 2011. Parikshit, Student Satellite Project A student initiative project under Manipal University to build a fully functional Nano-satellite. The team has been working under the guidance of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Involved in the Payload Subsystem of the project since Oct-Nov 2010. Studied and done in-depth analysis on functionalities of payload for a nano-satellite adhering to its technical constraints and allied fields. Involved in team presentations on the technical aspects of the project which were given to Dr. D.V.A. Raghava Murthy, Director, ISRO Small Satellites Centre; and Padmashree Dr. B.N. Suresh, Former Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and IIST, Trivandrum on their visits to MIT Manipal. Involved in authoring and co-authoring technical papers for various prestigious conferences including the International Astronautics Congress 2011, Cape Town; while working at Parikshit. Visited the ISRO Master Control Facility at Hassan, Karnataka with the team to get an exposure to Satellite Tracking and the facilities involved in the same. 2

Academic Highlights Electives Elective-1: Application Specific ICs Elective-2: Information Theory and Coding Elective-3: Operation Research Elective-4: Mobile Communication Elective-5: Digital Image Processing Paper Presentation Presented a technical paper on Efficient Space-weather Profiling using a Micro-satellite at the nd th 62 International Astronautical Congress 2011, Cape Town, South Africa held in 3-7 October 2011. Submitted papers on the Functionality of Nano-satellites in tracking Van Allen Radiation and allied topics at various other prestigious conferences. Academic Projects Payload Sub-system Member, Parikshit Student Satellite team, Manipal University (Project Mentor: Dr. Ramesha C., Associate Director (Student Welfare and Hostels), Professor, Dept. of Mathematics) Involved in extensive study and research for the building of a fully-functional nano-satellite under the guidance of ISRO. It is a Manipal University student-initiated project. Involvement: Detailed study of the effects of ionizing radiation in the lower Van Allen Radiation belt of the upper atmosphere on space travel. The factors affecting the fluctuations in the same were also studied. Extensive study in building and functioning of a viable and feasible payload for spaceweather profiling. Also involved with the secondary payload of tether deployment system for gradual de-orbiting of satellite. Extensive and comprehensive study of Geiger Muller Tubes for measurement of Ionizing Radiation in the Lower Van Allen Radiation belts. Study and comparison of miniature DC-High voltage DC convertors and allied electrical systems for providing voltage the high-voltage devices on-board the satellites. Profiling of the data obtained from a satellite at ground-station to generate a comprehensive model of the same and thus aid in space-weather and radiation prediction and help research.

The detailed study mentioned above have been included in presentations and reports presented to eminent scientists and engineers of ISRO satellite centre, Bangalore; International Astronautics Federation(in the form of technical papers for IAC 2011) as well as faculty guides from MIT Manipal. 3
