Back again with a new driver convenient mod

the Universal Garage Door opener

our SE chargers do not come with a garage door opener including the wiring harnesses to
activate it, and my Martin garage door opener clip has made some grooves in my sun visor, and
that irritates me!!!

so I decided to upgrade and make a bypass to get it working

1- First of all, you have to buy the overhead console that comes with a Garage Door opener,
reading lights and WITHOUT sunroof controls

2- Disconnect your car battery first to prevent any short during installation, Remove the old
overhead console by a trimming tool ( it may require a little force to pull it down by your
fingers)

3- disconnect the plug and replace the old overhead console with the new one, clip it back

4- Do not rush pressing the buttons, it wont work ..... yet

5- remove the passenger side Pillar to reveal the wiring harness of the overhead

6- Mind a RED colored clip securing the push-pin ..... pull it out gently ( mind that it doesnt
come out, just un-secure it), then disconnect the plug

7- The wires we are looking for are #8 (Power) & #11 (Ground)

8- Since they do not have any connection to the main PCM, we will have to feed them some
power from an alternative source

9- and that will be the Reading lights feeders which provide constant power to the overhead
(Yellow/Blue = Power) (Black/Green = Ground), so cut the UGDO wires from the plug

10- strip the Reading Lights wires to connect the UGDO wires to them

11- Connect the ( Black + Black/Green) and ( Grey + Yellow/Blue )

12- tape the wires well with an electrical tape and plug the harness and secure it , then install
the passenger pillar

13- Congratulations on your new Garage door opener

Note:

this procedure will allow you to obtain an OEM Universal Garage Door Opener as a stand alone
device, it will not synchronize with the EVIC in your vehicle like the ones which come equipped
already by the manufacturer

other than that; its working like charm
