in history.

Odyssey The Odyssey, an ancient Greek epic poem


by Homer, tells the tale of Odysseus, the
king of Ithaca, on his tumultuous journey
home following the Trojan War. During his
ten-year voyage from Troy to Ithaca,
facing numerous dangers resulting in the
demise of his crew, Odysseus was
believed to be deceased, leaving his wife
Penelope and son Telemachus to confront
a slew of suitors vying for Penelope's
hand. This classic work is among the
earliest surviving pieces of literature and
remains popular with contemporary
audiences, similar to the Iliad, also
attributed to Homer and divided into 24
books.

Angela Olive Pearce Angela Carter, an English author who


wrote under the pen name Angela Carter,
was renowned for her feminist, magical
realism, and picaresque literary works.
Notably, her collection "The Bloody
Chamber" (1979) stands out. One of her
short stories, "The Company of Wolves,"
was made into a film in 1984. Recognized
for her contributions, Carter was ranked
tenth in The Times' 2008 list of "The 50
greatest British writers since 1945."
