High convenience Ease of operation
Accurate
On older machine tools, precision
machining in the hundredths range is often
a matter of luck. This is because worn
machine elements make exact dial and
vernier settings impossible. Linear
encoders from HEIDENHAIN, however,
measure the motion of the axis slides
directly. As a result, any backlash from
mechanical transmission elements such
as lead screws, racks, or gears has no
effect. Being able to directly read the slide
position improves your machining accuracy
and reduces scrap rates.
