INUs is running. If no INU is running, ARU will also stop itself.
NOTE: Similar command can be given on INU1 side, which is lead to ARU control through the
PFF-link. If diode mode of the ARU is really used, the request is recommended to be done at the

This group name identifies which communication hardware module is connected to the ACS 1000
drive. Some option modules support multiple protocols which can be selected with a parameter. The
setup parameters can be modified either by using the drive panel or by PC software, e.g. Drives
Window.
Note:
The changes to the parameters in group 51 do not come into effect immediately but only when the
power of the fieldbus adapters was switched off and then switched on again.
CAUTION!
! Handle the fibre optic cable with care. Do not touch the ends with bare hands, as fibre
optic cables are extremely sensitive to dirt.
Fieldbus
FIELDBUS CONNECTION
The ACS6000 can be connected to an external control system – usually a fieldbus – using an adapter module. The fieldbus adapter
module (FBA) is connected to Channel 0 (CH0) on the ACS6000 AMC3 board by using a DDCS-protocol fibre optic link. The
drive can receive all of its control information from the fieldbus.

75.01 CommModule
Index Description: This parameter is used, if a FBA module (Field Bus Adapter) or an ABB Advant controller (AF100-
Bus) is used to communicate with ARU. The module is connected channel 0 (CH0).
1 = None ARU is controlled by MASTER INU (INU1) or locally by ARU control
panel.
2 = Dset1 R/W ARU is controlled through the communication link (channel CH0) by using
data sets 1 to 8. This is a typical setting for the use of a fieldbus adapter
module.
Note!
If parameter 75.01 COMM MODULE is set to “DSET1 R/W”, Parameter
Group 90 (DATASET RECEIVE ADDRESS) and Group 91 (DATASET
TRANSMIT ADDRESS) will be opened.
3 = Dset1 R Read only mode (from AMC). Datasets 2, 4, 6 and 8 can be used for reading
data from the drive to the advant control or the fieldbus.
4 = Dset10 R/W The drive is controlled through the communication link (channel CH0) by
using data sets 10 to 31. This is a typical setting for use with a ABB Advant
controlled AF100-Bus adapter module (for example APC2 , AC70, AC80,
FCI, NPBA-02, NCSA-01).
Note!
If parameter 75.01 COMM MODULE is set to “DSET10 R/W”, Parameter
Group 92 & 93 (DATASET RECEIVE ADDRESS) and Group 94 & 95
(DATASET TRANSMIT ADDRESS) will be open.
5 = Dset10 R Read only mode (from AMC). Odd datasets 11, 13, 15... 31 can be used for
reading data from the drive to the advant control or the fieldbus.
6 = Dset1_10 R Read only mode (from AMC). All the datasets defined for transporting data
from the AMC (in groups 91, 94, 95) can be used for reading data from the
drive to the advant control or the fieldbus.

Each parameter has two different gateways to write the value: integer format or decimal. Finally, the result is exactly
same in the AMC program. This relation is always shown in the signal and parameter table as shown above.
For the ARU control, it is not recommended to use any Advant Controller nor fieldbus module etc., because the option
‘MSTR INU1’ (default) in the parameter 11.01 ‘EXT STRT STOP’ is handling the ARU controlling . As this option is
selected, the master INU takes automatically care of the right operation and starting of the ARU via Power Feed Forward –
link (ARU AMC channel nr 6). Additionally, the ARU behaviour can be configured in the parameters of group 16.
If for some reason ARU controlling has to be done by some Advant Controller, it can be established similar way like for the
INU. Then the timing and co-operation of the INU and ARU have to be observed separately. Please refer to the appendix
part of the INU manual.
If data needs to be read from the ARU control to the automation e.g. for monitoring purposes, it can be easily done by
selecting ‘R’ (read only) options of the parameter 75.01 ‘CommModule’.
