Manaog graduated Bachelor of Arts, major in Literature at the Ateneo de Naga in 1996 and pursued

Master of Arts in English at the University of Nueva Caceres at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic,
graduating in 2023.

After winning writing fellowships in Iyas, Iligan and Silliman, all co-sponsored by the National
Commission for Culture and the Arts, he launched Anáyo, a collection of Bikol poetry in Legaspi City
in 2012.

In the 1990s, his poems appeared in Bikol anthologies including Haliya and Journal of Bikol Writing
edited by Bikol scholar Maria Lilia Realubit.

His works appeared in Maharang, Mahamis na Literatura sa mga Tataramon na Bikol and Sagurong:
100 na Kontemporanyong Rawitdawit sa Manlainlain na Tataramon Bikol and the Susog Salog: The
Naga River Arts and Culture Initiative Manual for K-12 Teacher, all edited by Paz Verdades Santos.

Aside from the more recent An Satuyang Kakanon sa Aroaldaw by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino
and Girok: Erotika published by Kabulig Bikol, his works were also featured in the Canada-based
Burak, SanAg, Philippines Graphic, The Daily Tribune, Homelife, and the Ani journal by the Cultural
Center of the Philippines.

In 2020, he served as editor of two children’s stories written in Central Bikol for the Let’s Read Asia
program by the Asia Foundation.

He currently teaches Humanities at the Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Canaman
