Summative Assessment: Math - 2.MD.

7 Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the
nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
A. Learning Objective
The students will be able to identify between Am and Pm, and accurately tell time using analog
and digital clocks.
B. Descriptions of Assessment
The student will complete a Telling Time Assessment. The assessment will require the student to
write the digital time that each clock shows, draw the time given on each clock provided the
time, and circle if the time is likely to be Am or Pm for each scenario. The last part of the
assessment where the students will be tasked with writing the digital time or drawing the hands
on the clock and identify if the scenario is Am or Pm can be done verbally as well to differentiate
for the students.

C. Rational
This assessment aligns with standard and learning objective. It
encompasses am, pm, telling time from analog and digital clocks. The different areas the
assessments hits on can allows students to show their understanding, and how to apply it to
scenarios.
D. Scoring Guide
The students will be scored based on their level of understanding,
with any comments I noticed like if a student is struggling specifically
with analog clocks. The students who require a differentiated scoring
guide will be graded based on levels as well just encompasses different
criteria. These students can verbally or written show their understanding,
as well as providing modeling’s and prompts.
E. Differentiation
Students who have difficulties with written expression, like Student #1, Henry, are allowed to
verbally state their responses. They were provided addition time as needed. The scenarios were
also scaffolded based on the students reading level, like Student #1 required a below grade level
scenario, but Student #2 was given on grade level and at least one above. The students were
providing with visual aids, and gestures to support the concept of telling time specifically to am
and pm.
