Tips Management Policy (Proposed)

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to establish guiding principle for the collection and distribution of tips received by
Filmhouse Cinemas employees in the course of providing service to customers. This policy aims to ensure
transparency, fairness, and compliance regarding tip income.

Definitions:

Tips: Voluntary monetary rewards given by customers to employees in recognition of good service or hospitality.

Tip Pooling: The practice of combining tips received by multiple employees and redistributing them equitably.

Collection and Reporting:

 All tips received from guests must be placed in the tip jar by the customers as staff are not allowed to
receive tips into their hands.

 In adherence to our existing policy, which mandates that sales proceeds remain intact and unaltered, all
tips linked to sales transactions will be considered part of the sales. Only cash tips collected and deposited
into the designated tip jar will be eligible for distribution among the staff.

 A log is to be maintained for the documentation of the value of tips received, on a daily basis.

Distribution and Management:

 Tips belong to the employees who directly receive them and are to be distributed fairly based on
individual performance and contribution to customer satisfaction. To ensure equitable distribution, 60% of
tips will be allocated to retailers/cashiers, while the remaining 40% will be shared among other team
members. Distribution will occur at the end of each shift.

 Tip pooling may be implemented in certain circumstances, provided that it is voluntary and all participants
agree to the terms of distribution.

 The distribution of tips should be conducted in a transparent manner, and employees should be informed
of the distribution process.

 It is strictly prohibited for any manager to retain or claim a portion of tips intended for employees.

 Tips should not be used to offset shortages or other discrepancies associated with operational activities.

 Regardless of position, employees are strictly prohibited from receiving tips into their personal accounts.

 Soliciting for Tips by Team members from Guests in any form is a dismissible offence.

 Employees who have concerns or grievances regarding the management or distribution of tips should
escalate their concerns to the Human Resources Department.

 The Internal Audit Team will then investigate and address complaints related to tips management
promptly and impartially and advise accordingly.

Compliance Monitoring:

 Regular audits and reviews of tips management practices will be conducted to ensure compliance with
company policies.

 Any instances of non-compliance or violations of the tips management policy will be addressed through
appropriate disciplinary action.
