I would say that I met my goal about 80%. I made it a priority to ask many more
questions during clinic time, and always made sure to take advantage of my
clinic time and use it well. By asking many more questions during this time, I
found myself much more confident during assessments. How I know that I met
my goal is that I felt much more confident during my extra/intra oral summative
assessments, and I achieved 100% in both. The part of my goal that I did not
manage to fully reach is attending a supported learning lab. I personally feel as
though after my usual clinic time which is around 4 hours including aseptic
protocol and wrapping the instruments, it is quite difficult to find a desire to
want to attend the learning lab as I feel quite fatigued. Although I did not
manage to this part of my goal, I chose what I thought was best for my myself,
as well as, I set up my dexter at home in a way that very similarly replicated how
the dexter would be set up in clinic, and made it a priority to practice as much as
possible. My goal of practicing outside of clinic time as well as asking questions
to my clinical instructor will always be a relevant goal ensuring my success
throughout my time attending Georgian college.
My new goal moving forward is reviewing my theory notes more frequently, and
practicing on my dexter at home set up the night before my clinical sessions.
During the second half of the semester I found myself falling behind in my
theory notes, which could have impacted my success and understanding in my
clinical sessions. I want to have achieved this goal by the next midterm report
that I submit next semester and reflect my progress during that time.
