PAST CONTINUOUS ( thì quá khứ tiếp diễn)

 Diễn đạt hành động đang xảy ra tại một thời điểm trong quá khứ.

E.g.: When my sister got there, it was 8 p.m.

 Diễn đạt hai hành động xảy ra đồng thời trong quá khứ

E.g.: While I was driving home, Peter was trying to contact me.

 Diễn đạt hành động đang xảy ra thì có hành động khác xen vào.

E.g.: I was listening to the news when she phoned
