Q. What is psychology:

(Might be a study of a soul’s purity or impurity. The means to understand the purity or
impurity may come from qualitative or quantitative methods. Psychology might be a subject or a
field enhancing expertise in research.) Just an Analysis, Not necessarily
ACCURATE

ALLAH WILL SHOW HIS SIGNS.

- Allah SWT is revealing the truth through human beings themselves. This may be
evident through the human beings themselves. Like physical aspects of the body- also
the psychology of the human being.
-
- Secular view: ‘Universe is self sufficient’ (Astaghfirullah, May Allah give them hadaya)
Honer and hunt psychologists. ‘Explain that we possibly can exist without a God’ also
‘Observable facts i.e what can be seen’ also ‘experience’ / “sense experience’’

- Research says:
. People who are more religious are less likely to have:
1. mental health issues
2.Tend to have better physical health
.longitudinal studies (study of people over a long period of time) : Religious people
tend to live longer.

In reference to the Quran: (He Will forgive your sins and delay you for a specified

term) Not exact translation

Revelation is our primary source

- Science will always have an element of doubt unless its confirmed by a revelation since
it involves human endeavours. Quran is the truth 100%

- Knowledge and Proofs:

 1. Transmitted proofs (revelation)
2. Quran and Hadith

- Revelation should be the criteria to develop the sciences

- Reasoning is/should be the secondary source where SECULAR belief states

reasoning is the primary SOURCE and revelation is thrown out completely.

- Western Psychology has many theories going in different directions. None which are
complete.

- DIfferent type of Sciences:

1. Ulum Al Sharia - Religious science based on revelation.
2. Ulum Al Aqliyah - based on observation, research, and rational inquiry.

- Religious knowledge is for the soul. Fulfills the purpose of life and the hereafter.

- .Psych- soul or self

.Logy - study of
PSYCHOLOGY: Study of the soul. Behavior, Emotions and mental processes is
determined by the status of our soul as well as the seen and unseen
aspects that influence these elements.

- Problems of Contemporary psychology:

1. Humans are viewed as independent from their creators.

- Behaviors are affected through:

1. Drives within us.
2. Reflexes
3. Automatic Responses
4. Conditioning
5. Our interaction with the environment
6. The influence of the environment on us.
7. Family
8. Media
9. Belief in the world after
10. The seen world
- Human Psyche is not purely just psychological. We do not just think, behave and feel.
We have a soul. Our essential nature is spiritual and metaphysical. SCIENCE CANNOT
PROVE THIS.

- Every human being has the fitrah. It influences what we are and what we need to
become. Belief in the oneness of Allah. The desire to worship Allah. It is a part of our
soul.
 - It is the soul that allows the connection with our creator. Behavior and choices we
make/do have an effect on the soul. Iman and faith are affected.

- The unseen (AL- Ghayb) is larger than the seen. It includes the jinn, heaven and hell,
angels, Allah, the here-after, the SOUL itself e.t.c This has an impact on the behavior.

- Emotions such as hope for heaven and fear of hell have an impact on the soul.

May Allah make us strive to purify our souls!
