Indicators of Behaviour Problems
Indicators of Behaviour Problems
To evaluate sum up all the “yes’’ marked in the checklist. The total score should not exceed “18”. Higher
scores indicate behavioral issues that need attention and corrective measures.
Score Interpretation
Normal behaviour or Slight concern may be needed as some behaviour related issues
1-6 are usually present in most children of the same age group and will wear off as the
child grows.
Moderate level of concern may be required to monitor if the child persists on the same
7-12
behaviour over a period of time in order to prevent conduct disorder in future.
Point of extreme concern as child may develop this disruptive conduct as part of their
13-18 routine behaviour. Corrective measures should be taken by initiating counselling
sessions under supervision of an expert.
Sample Evaluation
The child observed by my group today was a 3.5yrs old girl. She displayed cooperative behavior however; she showed
very few signs of behavior problems. We observed her behavior by engaging her in a group activity and analyzing her
behavior using a behavioral checklist. Her overall score was 4, which means she does not possess any traits related to
extreme behavioral problems.
