CVC Short /o/ Word Building

Thank you for downloading our free printable CVC Short

/o/ Word Building Set. In this activity students will identify,
segment, build and write short vowel words for engaging spelling
practice.

TIPS & IDEAS FOR USE

Students can play this game independently or in pairs as a center
activity or part of small group instruction.
Laminate for repeated use with dry erase markers.

Game cards can be placed in a bag or face down in a stack so kids

can draw them at random.

For each prompt card kids will:

1) Place card in the top left box.
2) Tap each dot to segment the sounds in the word.
3) Build the word with magnetic letters or another letter
manipulative.
4) Write the word.
5) Erase and repeat with a new prompt card.

Optional: On a separate sheet of paper have kids record which

words they built during their time at the center. This provides
extra writing practice and shows how many words they worked
on. Kids can also check their answers using the Answer Key if
desired.
