DIALOGUE:

Good afternoon teacher, my name is and my classmates are going to present the last
assignment of week 18. An Interview
JF: Hello Juan and Mayumi, my name is Jofree Lopez, welcome to the interview for the
scholarship abroad. Please can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?
J: Good afternoon, my name is Juan David Gomez, I am 18 years old, I am from Peru, I
recently graduated from high school as the best student of the year, and I hope to
continue my studies at your university.
M: Good afternoon, my name is Mayumi Martinez, I am 19 years old, I am from Peru, I
recently graduated from high school as the best student of the year, and I would like to
obtain a scholarship abroad.
JF: Well, first of all, why do you think you deserve this scholarship?
J: Growing up I learned that this is not easy. There are some achievements that I am proud
of, but what I am most proud of is my progress in school.
M: I have done quite well in school and I am trying to prepare myself for life. And I can do
everything people want me to do.
JF: What do you hope to learn in the program you have chosen?
J: I have chosen to study civil engineering but I am doing an interview to learn about
industrial engineering.
M: The career I chose is civil engineering but I want to investigate digital marketing
because that is going to be the future.
JF: If you haven't been abroad yet, where would you travel if you had the chance? and
why?
J: I'm going to Canada because it's the best place to learn about the digital push I need
M: I would travel to the United States to create small industries and to be someone that
everyone recognizes.
JF: Who would support you financially during your studies?
J: My family members are people who worked hard to have their own company in the
country.
M: My parents would be the ones who would sponsor my education and living expenses
during my studies.
JF: Well, in that case I would like to ask you some additional questions. What is your
definition of failure?
J: I define failure as the situation in which one does not meet expectations.
M: I define it as the defeat in which the expected results are not obtained.
JF: How do you handle deadlines or multiple tasks?
J: I make sure you have a positive outlook on the task at hand.
M: I write a plan on how to execute it and meet its deadline.
JF: Thank you very much for answering these questions, see you later.
J: See you later
M: bye!
