1) When you summarize, you are not allowed to give your viewpoint,

you have to condense the main text, and provide accurate

where the goal is to entertain. Its purpose is to search for truth.

That sounds fluffy and philosophical, but it simply means that this

type of writing is where we go to learn about the world we live in

—about what is true, how things came to be, and how we know.

It is a professional attempt to bring about a change to a public

opinion that is favorable towards a cause, a group or an

9) A Conclusion summarizes the key findings of the study and

restates the main argument or thesis presented in the introduction.

It should also provide a brief overview of the contributions of the
