There are several resources/official websites that you need to be familiar witih

Look on the right side of the web page and find Contest Rules

Answer the following questions:

1. How many days before the UIL performance can a director change a piece of music?

2. What is the time limit for a UIL performance?

3. How do concert selections affect what piece you must sight-read? (Hint: See Section
1111(f))

4. Under what circumstance can a 6th grader sing at UIL? (See Section 1102(b))

5. What choir must be entered as the varsity group at the following levels? Are there any
exceptions? (See Section 1102(i))

6. Can members of the Varsity Choir participate in a non-varsity choir also? Can members
of a non-varsity choir participate in a varsity choir? (See Section 1102(i))

The Prescribed Music List (PML) - https://www.uiltexas.org/pml/

The PML is accessible online and contains the music you can select for UIL Concert
performance. The performance requirements for each conference can be seen by viewing the
“Concert Performance Requirements” in the menu at the top of the page.

Answer the following questions:


1. What is the performance requirement for a cappella music?

2. Can I change the key of a piece for performance?

3. Can I perform the English translation of a piece if it is provided in the score?

4. What are the performance requirements for a 3C, Non-Varsity Treble Choir?
