A Narrative
The basic purpose of narrative is to entertain, to gain and hold
readers' interest. narratives can also be written to teach or
inform, to change social attitudes / opinions . A narrative text
entertains, instructs or informs readers by telling a story.

It contains characters, real or imaginary, a plot, setting,


conflict, climax, resolution, and conclusion. A narrative text has
a well-structured beginning, middle, and end. Some narrative
texts entertain readers, while others aim to inform readers, as
in the case of college applications. Most narrative essays also
include themes or messages to help readers understand the
point of the story.

some examples can be: picture books, cartoons, mystery,


fantasy, adventure, science fiction, historical fiction, fairy tales,
myths, leyends,fables,plays,chapter books,comics, choose a path,
comedies, etc.

A REPORT
Report Text is a type of text in English that describes the
details of an object. Details in this text are scientific details
which include the description of objects, both physical and non-
physical, from scientific facts about the object. Report Text
tends to lead to scientific factual text and is more general , so
that there is no subjective opinion from the author.

the report text has as characteristics, Using the Simple Present


Tense, The title text looks more general, Contains scientific
facts and has a general classification.
Some examples can be: non-fiction texts, encyclopedias,
magazine articles, information brochures, catalogs
