Introduction
Have you heard about cube root? Most of the time, we’ve always encountered
learning square root but in cube root, not often. Learning cube root is also learning
square root but these two have different characteristics we need to understand. When
we first meet cube root, we often think that this is the same as the square root, but they
aren’t. Understanding these cube roots are like learning the basics of other roots and
powers.
In 1800 BCE, cube root was first used by Babylonian Mathematician who studied
and practiced Mathematics in Mesopotamia. Later, in the 4th century BCE, Plato, the
Athenian Philosopher in ancient Greece came up with a problem of doubling the cube.
Doubling the cube is a geometric problem where the given edge of the cube is doubled
to get a cube of double volume. This is also known as the Delian problem. We get to
know the method of extracting cube roots from the 9th chapter of Chinese Mathematics
book called Mathematical Art which was compiled around the 2nd Century BCE. In the
first century CE the Greek mathematician Hero of Alexandria also devised a method for
also gave a method for finding the cube root of numbers having many digits. (Vedantu,

The significance of this study having an easier way or method to find the cube
root is a big deal in different areas. When we simplify these calculations, it helps a lot in
Math. Making simpler cube root calculations improves the effectiveness, accuracy, and
understanding of solving mathematical problems in educational and professional
settings. It makes things faster, more accurate and easier to understand. It also allows
the students to develop a deeper knowledge and improve their intellectual knowledge
subjects like Computer Science, Physics and Engineering. Faster calculations for cube
roots allow individual to make better decisions in everyday tasks such as statistical
analysis and financial planning. Overall, the importance of having an easier way of
calculating the cube root comes from its numerous impacts on accessibility, accuracy,
and effectiveness in a few subjects and professions. It gives people the courage to take
Preliminary Concepts
Cube Root is a value that makes the original value when multiplied by itself
thrice or three times. As an example, 5 is the cube root of 125, commonly referred to as
3√125. It's because 5x5x5=125 is the. result of multiplying 3 by itself three times. Thus,

Own Way
Step 1: First, identify the last digit of the given number and find its
corresponding number in a table (for the last digit of the cube root).
Step 2: Next, divide the given number into groups of three digits, starting from
Step 3: Lastly, examine the remaining digits on the left and choose the number in
the table that is closest to them without exceeding the remaining digit.
