Topic: Challenges exist in Port Klang: Westport, Malaysia for improving cost efficiency
with Industry 4.0 solutions

1. What will be done?

The purpose of this study is to determine the reasons for Westport difficulties implementing
Industry 4.0. In fact, insufficient technology infrastructure may make it more difficult to
apply modern solutions and hence reduce the efficiency of port operations.

2. Why it will be done?

Everyone should know the importance of a cost-efficient port will bring an abundance
of advantages to the economy of a country. Therefore, identifying the barriers
Westport faces is crucial to the stakeholders to solve the problems. This might help
Westport to reduce delays, cost overruns, and operational interruptions so it may
produce more benefits for the country.

This study uses quantitative methods to obtain data related to its objectives.
Respondents to this study are the workers who work in the area of Westport, Port
Klang. Which the workers have the sufficient knowledge that regarding the questions
of port. To align with the aims, the study questions were adjusted and changed from
earlier investigations.

4. Where it will be done?

This study will take place in the Selangor area. It involves the port workers regardless
of age, race and nationality. This study need to gather diverse perspective and
experiences from the port workers to generate the appropriate result.

5. To whom it will be done?

This study will target all employees that working in the Westport to ensure the
information get to conduct the research is accurate.

6. What is the benefit of doing it?

This study can help to discovere inefficiencies, challenges, and potential improvement
areas of Westport. So, it can optimize resource utilization, minimize waste, and
simplify processes. This may result in financial savings on labour, upkeep of
machinery, energy use, and other running costs. Next, Westport might get to enhance
its competitiveness in the maritime sector by overcoming the obstacles in
implementing Industry 4.0. The enhancing of productivity, efficiency, and service
