Below is the list of items to buy when travelling to CANADA

• Formal suit: 1 complete set (blazer) • Sports shoes: 1 pair (specially runners)

UTENSILS AND FOOD ITEMS:


These are the most important things you need to carry from home. If you have already decided
your roommate(s), then you will have the benefit of sharing/dividing items equally. All vessels
should be flat bottomed since in Canada most apartments use electric stoves. These may be
the utensils you will need to carry with you:

• Plate: (2-take melamine dish + bowl dishwasher friendly)


• Knives: 1 • Serving spoons (of various sizes): 2
• Glasses/tumblers: 1 + tea or coffee mug: 1 • Vegetable chopping board: 1 (Optional)
• Butter knives: 2 (Optional) • Spoons: 2
• Water bottle (preferably Tupperware): 1 • Forks: 2
• Wooden Rolling Board

SPECIALIZED FOOD ITEMS FROM YOUR HOME COUNTRY, SEE EXAMPLE BELOW:
• Ready to eat paste: 5-6 bottles minimum • Rice 2 kg for initial use
• Maggi: 10-12 (minimum) • Pickles: 2 bottles
• All dals that you use in cooking: 500 gms each • Some snacks – how much ever you want,
• All powders: chili, garam masala, rasam, only for initial days

Most of the things are easily availed in Canada so this is just for initial few days

• Shaving razor – a couple of disposable ones • Shaving foam (don’t buy cream) – small can
• Cold cream: 1 bottle • Vaseline: 1 bottle

• Hair oil: 1 bottles • Deodorant: 2-3 cans
• Nail cutters: 1 • Ear buds: 1 small pack
• Sunscreen: 1 bottle • Lip balm: 2 tubes

It is mandatory to carry regular medicines for FEVER, COLD, BODY PAIN,


VOMITTING, DIARRHEA. Doctor’s prescription is must.
