How do the sacrament ‘sanctify’ life?

 Baptism: a person becomes a child of God

 Confirmation: faith is strengthened and the power of the Holy Spirit is renewed in the believer’s life
 Eucharist: the life of Christ is received, enabling the believers to continue growing in God’s love
 Marriage: the couple accept that their love for each other is the love of God active in their lives
 Ordination: the priest commits himself to God and to the Church. He is given the power to
consecrate at Mass
 Reconciliation: the believers rejects those areas of life that have damaged the relationship with
God and this relationship is restored
 Sacrament of the Sick: the sick are made aware of the strength and love of Christ with them in their
time of need.

Some peole might belive that the
sacraments should be a very
important stage in every Catholics
live. Catholics believe that all
humankind are holy as we are all
made in the image of God. Therefore,
we are all holy and close with God and
the decision to take the sacraments is
up to us. For a Catholics to show their
faith for God they would “want” to
take the sacraments instead of “need”
to take the sacraments as many
believe if the faith exists it’s
essentially “wanting” to affirm the
existing faith that makes receiving the
sacrament valued.
