Former Member of Rajya Sabha

Maqbool Fida Husain (17 September 1915 – 9 June

2011)was an Indian artist known for executing bold,
vibrantly coloured narrative paintings in a modified
Cubist style.
He was one of the most celebrated and internationally
recognised Indian artists of the 20th century.
He was one of the founding members of Bombay
Progressive Artists' Group.
M.F. Husain is associated with Indian modernism in the
1940s.
His early association with the Bombay Progressive
Artists' Group used modern technique, and was
inspired by the "new" India after the partition of 1947.
His narrative paintings, executed in a modified Cubist
style, can be caustic and funny as well as serious and
sombre.
RUINED, UNNOTICED, UNEXPLORED.......
The colonnade conceals the artwork, making it
inconspicuous to those who pass by. Adjacent to the
gallery, benches are provided for visitors to rest, but they
may need to sift through the surroundings in order to
discern/spot the artwork.
We believe that the artwork would benefit from proper
maintenance and illumination to accentuate its presence
and enhance its visibility. It is regrettable that this artwork
does not receive the attention it deserves.

ARTWORK OF YET ANOTHER YOUNG ARTIST, THAT WAS EXHIBITED INSIDE DHOOMIMAL GALLERY
AS WE QUESTION ART
They say art chooses its people, so we stood there questioning
did we start the quest expecting this?

It's been said that art is the most stubborn form of expression,
it is not a planned process but rather a free-flowing ideation
that comes to an artist when the time is right. It picks its people
and place.I believe we were there at the moment .

These pictures raises questions about

memories, beginnings, and endings, and
suggests that the answers to these
questions are within reach.
