Introduction: In Colombian society, as in many other parts of the world, sex education is a topic
that is often surrounded by taboos and gender inequalities. Although sexuality is a natural and
integral part of human life, cultural and social norms have contributed to create inequality in
access to sex education, often considering it a privilege for men and a taboo for women.
