for entry to GLOCAL in September 2024


To be considered for the GLOCAL programme, please read the following carefully.

Please note, there are no Erasmus Mundus scholarships available for the 2024-2026 GLOCAL
intake. This intake will run in a self-funded capacity.

relevance to you:

To confirm, this form should be completed by all applicants to the GLOCAL programme.

You can access an editable version of this form by going to File and then Download – please
ensure you download this in .docx format. Complete this form carefully, and then sign and
date it, save the form as a PDF file, and upload it to your GLOCAL application along with all
other supporting documentation required.

Please complete this form and upload as a PDF document to your International Master in
Global Markets Local Creatives (GLOCAL) application (standard University of Glasgow
Application for Graduate Studies) under the “Scholarship Form” document section, along with
all other supporting documentation:

**To confirm, there are no Erasmus Mundus scholarships available for the 2024-2026 cohort,
and it is understood that this is NOT a scholarship application. Due to technical reasons
however, it has not been possible to change the name of this field.**

- This form, with your preferred study track clearly marked


- CV (Any format is acceptable, Europass is preferred)
- Two supporting reference letters on headed paper.
 References must be dated within 24 months from the date of submission of the
application
 They must be on institutional headed paper or with an official stamp. If neither are
available a reference can be submitted directly
to erasmusreferences@glasgow.ac.uk from the referee’s institutional email address.
References will not be accepted from a personal email address.
 References must be signed with an electronic or wet-ink signature. A typed name is
not sufficient
 At least one of the two references should be an academic reference. One may be a
professional reference where it is not possible to obtain two academic references.
- Transcripts of all university-level academic studies to date (undergraduate and any postgraduate
studies) Studies earlier than university are not required.

IMPORTANT:
Applications that do not have all of the above by the application deadline will be treated as incomplete
and will not be considered.
If you’re still studying, final degree certificates and English language certificates are required documents
for an Unconditional offer from the University of Glasgow. These documents however, do not need to
be submitted at the same time as the application is submitted.

2. Personal Statement

IMPORTANT: Samples of academic work will not be taken into consideration and should not
be submitted.

Please be as precise as you can when writing your Supporting Personal Statement. Do not
repeat yourself and do not exceed the word limit (1,200 words). You should make sure that
you address the following issues in your personal statement:

 You should outline your motivation for choosing the GLOCAL programme (i.e. how it
complements and develops your previous studies; how it relates to your potential future
career path; how it relates to your personal and academic interests).
 Explain why you think you are a good candidate for the programme given your previous
studies and how they relate to the courses offered on the programme in both years.
 If you have significant post-graduation work experience, please explain how those
activities relate to the courses offered in the programme and why you are re-entering
the academic world.
 Briefly indicate what you might see as being the topic of your Masters thesis (this can
change later).
 You should highlight your participation in conferences, internships, non-governmental
organisations, summer schools, and other socially sensitive or political activity; as well as
any prizes/awards received even if these activities are not specially connected to the
area of Global Markets & Local Creativities.
