Note: All the information given bellow is based on my personal experience and information
gathered from different sources including CSC official website. it doesn’t guarantee your
admission but may help you in getting scholarship and make the procedure easy for you.

Procedure to Apply for Chinese universities admission on scholarships

Dear all as you all know that Chinese Government Scholarship is announced in late November
or December, it depends on university when they announce admission. CSC Chinese
government scholarship normally announced by universities between December to May every
year.
1st step: you must need to do for admission is to prepare your all documents that you need for
online apply on CSC website and mostly universities now also have their online application
portal.
Application Documents (in duplicate)
i. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (written in Chinese or
English);
ii. Notarized highest diploma; Prospective diploma recipients must submit official
document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected
graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be
attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
iii. Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English); Transcripts in languages other
than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English
translations.
iv. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English);This should be a
minimum of 200 words for the undergraduate program applicants and 800 words for
postgraduate program applicants
v. Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English); Applicants for
undergraduate program and postgraduate program must submit two recommendation
letters signed by professors or associate professors.
vi. A CD of your own works (only required for arts students); Applicants for music
studies are requested to submit a CD of their own musical works. Applicants for the
fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works which include two sketches,
two color paintings and two other works.
vii. Passport: if have, Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant documents
about their statutory guardians in China.
viii. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy).
ix. English proficiency certificate: from your previous university, TOEFL or IELTS are
not mandatory.
x. Research Paper abstract/title page if you published.
2nd step; most important step is to find universities accordingly to your major how much u can
find and make list (including last date, application fee, your major language, university ranking
etc.). keep in mind one most important thing, do not only relay on information given on CSC
website about universities, major, last date etc.
a) Then go to university official website and find China Govt Scholarship notice to
see last date and applying procedure, may be university have some additional
requirement like application fee (mostly have no fee), information about university
online application portal, some universities demand university form and have their own
format for study plan, recommendation letter and acceptance letter. some universities
may not require hard documents directly.
b) Here you can try contact Prof for Acceptance Letter for your PhD/Master
Research Supervision. *Acceptance Letter not mandatory. its only plus point. you
can apply without acceptance letter, so don't take tension if you can’t get acceptance
letter.
c) Remember: do not focus only high ranked universities, because there is tough
competition in high ranked universities. U must need acceptance letter for high ranked
universities, but remember acceptance letter doesn’t guaranty that u will get
scholarship.
d) You can apply for minimum 3 universities on Type B application (directly apply to
university), 2 universities Type A (apply through Chinese embassy in your home
country).
• You can apply for admission and scholarship in parallel.
• You should apply through CSC website by clicking the Register option.

• Universities Search: click here to search relevant universities accordingly to your
major. Use different word for find more option e.g. I am applying for Master Electrical
Engineering I try with many query like electrical, power system, power, electric,
circuit, automation, etc. means u can search with cover subject or specialization field.
• Sign in/Sign up CSC: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login.
> Focus on those Universities from which you have got acceptance letter, or you intend to get.
>Acceptance letter is not mandatory, but it can increase your admission chances (specially for
PHD applicants). For MS, Student can get Admission without acceptance letter easily.
Email to professor:

this simplest email helped me to got 6 acceptance letters from all my targeted 6 unis in China last year
and also 2 unis from other countries. but I have read professors profile and mentioned their research
direction and about their latest publication (NOTE: review professor profile and mentioning true
information really increase your chances for getting acceptance letter and if you don’t have the same
research direction no need to worry about that, u can only show your interest in professor research
direction. similarity of your previous research work during BS or MS with professor is not
mandatory).

Request for Supervision (Acceptance Letter).

Respected Professor,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to you with the intent to express my interest in pursuing a
Ph.D. under your supervision.

I am (Name), (returning Master/Bachelor student or Master/Bachelor student) from (Country Name). The
particulars of my graduate program are:
University:(Ur University Name), Majoring in:(Major), Specialization or Research if you did in
otherwise don’t write.
My interest in working under your supervision developed as I studied your profile. After review of your
research interests [(such as ‘professor research direction, e.g Smart grid control’, Note; if u the professor
direction then mentions it or don’t write this portion, you can also write about any of his research paper if
you read it, in 1 line]. I strongly believe that my qualifications and research experience make me a
competitive candidate to work under your supervision.

I have recently published three articles (if u published any article). In addition to these, I submitted two
more articles for publications. As a part of my research experience, which is under review process [u can
just write this].
