The Clouds that Danced like Shouting Aardvarks

A Short Story
by Writer Unknown

Kate Parker looked at the magic knife in her hands and felt jumpy.

She walked over to the window and reflected on her damp surroundings. She had always loved
idyllic London with its dark, damaged ditches. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to
feel jumpy.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Brad Vader.
Brad was a stupid elephant with scrawny fingers and dirty eyes.

Kate gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a smart, modest, tea drinker with
curvaceous fingers and dirty eyes. Her friends saw her as a spotty, splendid saint. Once, she had
even saved a diced baby that was stuck in a drain.

But not even a smart person who had once saved a diced baby that was stuck in a drain, was
prepared for what Brad had in store today.

The clouds danced like shouting aardvarks, making Kate fuzzy.

As Kate stepped outside and Brad came closer, she could see the wet glint in his eye.

"Look Kate," growled Brad, with a scheming glare that reminded Kate of stupid snakes. "It's not
that I don't love you, but I want equality. You owe me 2674 euros."

Kate looked back, even more fuzzy and still fingering the magic knife. "Brad, exterminate," she
replied.

They looked at each other with anxious feelings, like two odd, old ostriches gyrating at a very
charming funeral, which had classical music playing in the background and two friendly uncles
bouncing to the beat.

Kate studied Brad's scrawny fingers and dirty eyes. Eventually, she took a deep breath. "I'm
afraid I declared myself bankrupt," explained Kate. "You will never get your money."

"No!" objected Brad. "You lie!"

"I do not!" retorted Kate. "Now get your scrawny fingers out of here before I hit you with this
magic knife."

Brad looked afraid, his wallet raw like a poor, petite piano.
Kate could actually hear Brad's wallet shatter into 2674 pieces. Then the stupid elephant hurried
away into the distance.

Not even a cup of tea would calm Kate's nerves tonight.
