PERFORMANCE TASK IN MATH AND SCIENCE 7

DO-IT-YOURSELF: GEO-NEW CAR MODEL

1. This performance task is required for all Grade 7 CUBED students under the requirement of
science and mathematics in the 3rd grading period.
2. This project is done by a group composed of 5 members. The group must work together to
construct an electrical-powered car model using cardboard or recyclable materials. The car
model can be in the form of a truck, a bus, a sports car, a Formula One, or any land vehicle of
their choice as long it has wheels.
3. To have an idea of how the car model is made, the students may refer to the YouTube link

4. The students must innovate the sample car based on their creativity and resourcefulness. They
may formulate it with a catchy name. Also, they may customize it with accessories to have a
unique style on their car.
5. Once their car is built, the group will create an information poster on a 1/8 illustration board
attached with its pictures in the front, side, and back view. Aside from illustrating the picture,
they must provide the following details.

 Brief Description
 Car Length
 Car Height
 Wheelbase
 Tire Circumference
 Weight
 Speed
 Velocity
 Acceleration
6. Once they are done making the info poster and finalizing their car output, they will present it in
the form of an exhibit. During the presentation, they will explain their car model and will show a
sample test run of their car to the guest judges.
7. The scoring and judging rubrics will be based on the following criteria below.
 Creativity – 25 points
 Mobility – 25 points
 Construction – 25 points
 Presentation – 25 points
 Total 100 points

8. The deadline for the DO-IT-YOURSELF: GEO-NEW CAR MODEL WITH INFO POSTER is MARCH
15, 2023, FRIDAY. The proposed schedule for the exhibit will happen on MARCH 20, 2024,
WEDNESDAY.
