Unit 6 Writing Assignment

A service that I use regularly is the GPS system that is included with our cell phones. I fre-

quently travel and having the GPS system is convenient when I am in places where I am not fa-

miliar with the roads or streets. If I had to design this product and create a development team, I

would choose team members who are tech savvy and can help me with all the coding that goes

into the GPS. This coding includes things such as programming the maps feature and making

sure that the streets are accurate and reflect real life. Because I myself do not know how to code,

it is vital that I search for and hire team members who are able to implement code easily to make

sure that the interface will be user friendly and accessible to the general public.

I would also search for people who will promote the product as no product can sell without

proper promotion and exposure to the general public. By hiring a great social media team, it will

skyrocket our product and allow for more sales to be generated and make sure that the public is

aware of the product and willing to use it based on positive reviews and proper marketing.

I would also want to search for people who specialize in geography as they will be able to un-

derstand how programming a GPS will work. According to the National Geographic Society

(GPS, 2022), the GPS uses satellite signal to determine the location of places around the world.

Using this information, I know that hiring a person knowledgeable about Geography will be use-

ful as they will be able to fact check the locations and make sure that the general public will be

able travel to these locations in an easy and accessible way.

It is also important for me to find investors who will believe in the product and help craft a bud-

get with my team to get the app off the ground as designing a product will not be cheap. I would
meet these people by posting job offerings to various job websites and recruiting for people who

are passionate about helping others as the GPS system is a great way to help people and conve-

nient for things such as delivery service or mail service.

Our biggest competition would be the GPS app that already comes preinstalled with most smart-

phones, but our product would be different as we would make sure to have it consistently beta

tested to make sure that no bugs will ruin the user experience and that our users will always have

constant updates to help better improve the app.

If I can find these people who share the same values as I do, I believe that our product will be ex-

tremely successful and useful to the public. Motivating the team would be easy as like I men-

tioned previously, our app will be used to make life easier and will even help to benefit ourselves

in our daily lives! No one should be restricted on where they should go, and by creating a suc-

cessful GPS service, we are making sure that millions will be able to enjoy life with the knowl-

edge and tools required to be accomplish successful trips to wherever and whenever they desire.
