TRAVEL TO BOGOTA, COLOMBIA

Bogotá was founded in 1538 by the Spanish conquistador Gonzalo Jiménez de


Quesada. During the colonial period, the city became an important administrative
and commercial center of the Viceroyalty of New Granada, And is the capital of
Colombia that is the reason why I choose this city to create a itinerary that have
information about what you should do or visit in Bogota.

Day 1: Explore the Historic Center

-Start your day with a traditional Colombian breakfast at La Puerta Falsa, one of the
oldest restaurants in the city.

-go to Plaza de Bolívar, the historical and political heart of Bogotá. Here you'll find
the Catedral Primada, the Palacio de Justicia, the Capitolio Nacional, and the
Palacio de Nariño and the most important thing, the official residence of the
President of Colombia.

-Visit the Gold Museum to learn about Colombia's fascinating preColumbian


history and admire an impressive collection of gold artifacts.

-Have lunch in La Candelaria, the oldest colonial neighborhood in Bogotá, where


you'll find a variety of restaurants serving traditional Colombian dishes.

-In the afternoon, take a stroll through the colorful cobblestone streets of La
Candelaria and admire the colonial architecture.

-End the day with a visit to Cerro Monserrate, where you can enjoy a panoramic
view of Bogotá at sunset.

Day 2: Art and Culture

-Visit the Botero Museum to appreciate the work of the famous Colombian artist
Fernando Botero, known for his voluptuous figures.

-Explore the National Museum of Colombia, which houses a wide collection of


Colombian art and history, from pre-Columbian art to contemporary art.
Enjoy lunch at Andrés Carne de Res, a restaurant famous for its lively atmosphere
and delicious Colombian food.

Day 3: Nature and Adventure

-Take a tour to Chingaza National Natural Park, located on the outskirts of Bogotá,
where you can go hiking and admire the region's natural beauty.

-Return to the city for lunch and then visit the Bogotá Botanical Garden, an oasis of
tranquility in the middle of the city, where you can explore a wide variety of plants
and flowers.

-In the afternoon, visit Parque de la 93, a popular recreation area among locals,
where you'll find restaurants, cafes, and shops.

-Have a dinner at one of the outdoor restaurants in Parque de la 93 and enjoy


Bogotá's nightlife.

One of the main issues in Bogotá is traffic congestion and inadequate public
transportation because the transportation system faces challenges such as
overcrowding during peak hours, lack of maintenance, and limited coverage this
leads to mobility problems, pollution, and road safety issues that affect the quality
of life of the inhabitants and travelers.
