Duplex Residence

Duplex house plans feature two units of living

space - either side by side or stacked on top of
each other. Different duplex plans often
present different bedroom configurations. For
instance, one duplex might sport a total of
four bedrooms (two in each unit), while
another duplex might boast a total of six
bedrooms (three in each unit), and so on. Is a
duplex considered multi-family? Yes, because
more than one family can live comfortably in a
duplex. In fact, if you think you might house
aging family members down the road, a
duplex plan might be your best bet, as this
type of home allows you to keep loved ones
close while still maintaining a good amount of
much needed privacy.
ROW HOUSING

Row house plans derive from dense neighborhood

developments of the mid 19th century in the US and
earlier in England and elsewhere. Manhattan and
Boston streetscapes boast some famous examples.
Some row houses are freestanding and while some
have common walls. Modern row house plans
combine front and/or rear porches with garages
below or at the back and open layouts on the main
floor. Row house plans (sometimes referred to as
"row house designs" or "row house floor plans") can
be an especially practical choice when building in
an urban setting, or any location where land/lot
space is extremely limited.
LOFT-TYPE
RESIDENCE

A loft apartment is a large, flexible, open space,

usually without internal walls (outside the
bathroom), converted for residential purposes. It
has previously been used for industrial purposes.
Such apartments are characterized by high ceilings,
exposed pipes, ceiling beams and huge spacious
windows.

TWO STOREY
RESIDENCE

the two-storey home is a type of house that

has two storeys, which means the house
consists of a ground floor and an upper floor.
Typically, this type of house is best suited for a
growing family of five or more members. A two-
storey house has a huge ground foor space that
can accommodate people and give them a
comfortable living. The ground floor includes
the kitchen, dining area, living room, bedrooms
and other amenities. However, on the upper
floor, it can be used for private areas such as
other bedrooms and for personal purposes.
BUNGALOW/ONE
STOREY RESIDENCE

bungalow, single-storied house with a sloping roof,

usually small and often surrounded by a veranda. The
name derives from a Hindi word meaning “a house in
the Bengali style” and came into English during the era
of the British administration of India.
Its general design—with high ceilings, large doors and
windows, and shade-giving eaves or verandas—makes
it especially well suited for hot climates, and
bungalows are still frequently built as summer
cottages or as homes in warm regions such as southern
California.
SPLIT-LEVEL TYPE
RESIDENCE

Split level house plans offer a more diverse look than a

traditional two-story home. The split-level house plan
gives a multi-dimensional, sectioned feel with unique
rooflines that are appealing to many buyers. With the split
level or split foyer style of design the front door leads to
an entry landing that lies midway between the main and
lower levels. Stairs lead either up to the main level, or
down to the lower level. The split-level home plan makes
great use of space and is most popular in northern states.
Many split-level plans are similar in style to ranch house
plans and have very little decorative elements.ch as
southern California.
