The Colors

Level

A1

Class development time

One hour

Objective

Promote meaningful learning of the English language in first grade children through the
theme of colors.

Have children learn colors in English and Spanish as it is an important part of a child's
development. Color will be a very useful communication tool for them, because it can
influence the mood and perception of things.

Outcomes

It is expected to identify through these activities that the variety of colors and shapes are
the first words that help children organize and catalog the world around them. It may seem
like a simple process, but it is the basis for more complex processes such as letter and
number recognition, as well as language development and bilingual learning, which is why
learning the names of colors in English is of great importance in children. early life.
It is also expected to achieve:
-That children begin to relate this language to their lives and see English as a second
language

-that they be able to identify the colors they have in their environment

-Achieve an interest in the language

-Improve pronunciation in children

Methodology

The class will be divided into three parts, first the setting, which consists of the students
going out to various places to observe the colors that are present in their context to relate
the students to the theme from the two languages to be applied. As a second moment, we
will explain the pronunciation and writing of colors in English to then reinforce their
cognitive structures so that they can incorporate what they have learned and be able to use
it in any situation that may arise in their social context. As a third moment, we will apply
an individual recreational activity where the student can participate by recognizing
primary and secondary colors.
Assessment to check students' progress

Children will be evaluated through a selective test where they must choose one of
three options depending on the color that corresponds to the figure.
