METHOD STATEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF FILTER DRIER

Purpose:

Purpose of this method statement is to provide maximum safety to the man and machine, utilize
resources and extend utmost life of equipment.

Steps of Installation:

 Factory approved liquid-line filter drier is required on every unit - Always install the
factory-supplied liquid-line filter drier. If replacing the filter drier, refer to Product Data
Digest for appropriate part number. Obtain replacement filter driers from your distributor
or branch.
 Match the filter/drier to the operating pressure & properties of the refrigerant gas and
equipment on which it is to be installed.
 Pump down the system to 10 Psi or less in order to avoid wastage of gas while opening
the system
 Carefully remove the old filter drier by loosening the flare nut from both ends and
prudent the flare on pipe.
 Flush the gas and oil trace in the system using high pressure nitrogen gas.
 Install new filter drier to the system using flare nuts or brazing (If the same is a brazing
type)
 Vacuumise the system to -28 psi to avoid all the moisture present inside.
 Do not overheat or damage the filter drier during installation.
 Recharge the refrigerant gas and commission the system for operation.
