ROBBIALAC Q/D Z/P ANTICORROSIVE PRIMER

A quick drying single pack anticorrosive primer for steel structure. Suitable for use as undercoat for a wide
variety of conventional finishes, together with excellent adhesion and ease of application. Formulated with
modified alkyd resins, Zinc Phosphate and other anti-corrosion pigments. Zinc primer fights rust and gives
longer lasting interior and exterior corrosion resistance to topcoat.
Special Properties: Excellent anticorrosion Properties on properly prepared steel, Repainting is after one
hour; Strong adhesion on degreased bare metal surfaces, The product is totally lead and chromate free.

PROPERTIES
Drying Time Under normal drying conditions touch drying 20-30minits and recoat able
after 1 hour. Allow for adequate ventilation during the drying period.

VOC Content EU limits value for this product (cat. A/d): 400 g/l (2007) / 300 g/l (2010)
This product contains max. 350 g/l VOC

EN Standards Satisfy EN71 - part III: 1994

Limitations Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 5ºC or
when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying
period.

PREPARATION
Previously Decorated Metals
Surfaces must be suitably dry, and free from anything that will interfere with
the adhesion of the materials to be applied. Remove all loose and failing or
suspect paint. Feather edges of sound paint. Remove all dust. Remove all rust.
New Surfaces All metals including galvanized Surfaces must be clean and free from
anything that will interfere with the materials to be applied. Wash with hot
water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any other
contaminants, frequently changing the water. Rinse thoroughly with clean
water. Allow to dry. Galvanized surfaces should be pre-treated with
Passivating Wash. Overall blackening of the surface will confirm satisfactory
surface preparation or treat with Etch Primer.
Additional surface preparation – all metals Non-ferrous metals
Lightly abrade to a bright (not polished) surface excluding galvanized
surfaces. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all resides. Then apply
thin coat of Etch Primer.
Ferrous metals
Remove all millscale and rust back to clean metal. Remove all residues and
prime with Robbialac Q/D Z/P Anticorrosive Primer.

COATING SYSTEM Apply one or two coats. Maintain a wet edge.

APPLICATION Stir well before use. Apply by brush, roller and spray to an even thickness (a
fine, soft long filament bristle brush gives best results). Maintain a wet edge.
Dilute 20-30% by volume with Lankem Thinner.

CLEANING Return surplus material to container. Wash with proper cleaner immediately
after use.

HEALTH AND SAFETY Please refer to the Safety, Health and Environmental Information on the
container. When preparing all surfaces avoid the inhalation of dust and/or
metal particles. Wear a suitable facemask. Store in secure, dry conditions and
inaccessible to children or animals. Containers should be kept closed during
storage. Do not empty into drains, watercourses or access routes to septic
tanks.
