A project is a set of interrelated activities, each activity has a specific duration and mobilizes
for its realization various human and material resources, undertaken with the aim of
achieving a specific objective.
A project is
- Uniqueness:
sera élevé, the envirenment
- Irreversibility of decisions: when we launch the project, we can take decisions at the
beginning but we have limited information about it.
At the end of the project, we know what should have been done, but it is now too
late. (personnaliser le schéma de Midler 1993).
Difference between a project and an event:
- Project’s constraints:
Time: the starting date corresponds to the arrival day, and the finishing date
corresponds to the departure day, which are defined depending on……… flight
availability.
Cost: all necessary expenses: plane tickets, hotels, excursions, food, transport,
shopping…
Quality: the customer’s requirements concerning the hotel’s services,
- Uncertainty: for example, On August 30th, 2017, a tropical storm formed within
Cape Verde islands, and transformed to the strongest Atlantic basin hurricane ever
recorded (hurricane Irma). The hurricane headed to Saint martin, Dominican
republic, Porto Rico, Cuba, Bahamas, Florida… Where hundreds of thousands of
tourists were enjoying their holidays, so the tourists couldn’t leave and were
emergency evacuated.
That’s an example of a holiday project uncertainty that stems from the environment:
although people know that hurricanes occur so frequently in the Atlantic Ocean,
they aren’t certain of their occurrence during their holiday.
- Subjecting to constraints:
Time: the Coachella festival is spread over two, consecutive three-day weekends
in April.

and 45 days.

projet.

Types of schedules:

Managing a project, more often than not, is a fairly complex endeavor. For that reason, an array of
methodologies and techniques have been developed to facilitate taming the chaos that comes along.
Creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is at the foundation of it all. What it means, as the name
suggests, is simply to break the structure of work that needs to be done from the most overarching
objective down to the smallest chunk of deliverables. Deliverables do not mean specific tasks and
activities that are involved, it’s what the customer or stakeholder will get once the project is complete.
Best practice, however, suggests not to go beyond 3-4 levels down. The value of breaking it down,
besides getting a clearer picture of tasks, may not be obvious at first, which is why I want to bring up 5
major benefits of creating a WBS.
But first, let’s come up with an imaginary project to use as a demonstration. Let’s say I want to start a
business selling some product online. This is no piece of cake, so I am going to break it all down into
smaller bites to get more manageable components.
WBS techniques:

Unit 3 : Tasks duration estimating.
Intro :
livrable, an achievement,……

Scheduling Software
Although spreadsheets can be used to build a professional, resource levelled schedule, a good project management software
package makes the process much quicker. Project management software is highly dependent on the industry in which its being used,
which makes sense due to the special attention that can be given to important features. But Microsoft Project is something of a
standard in the project management industry, in the absence of anything else. Primavera P6 is popular in construction, and online
It is essential to determine what features the software has. It is not a safe assumption that all project management software contains
all the features of professional project scheduling, like dependencies, floats, and critical paths. In particular, most online web-based
alternatives are relatively primitive in their scheduling capabilities. If that’s all you need, then great, but if you are doing more
