CCCCJESUS CALLS FOUR FISHERMEN

MARK CHAPTER 1, VERSE 14-20

We must live the way Jesus lived. This means to offer our
lives in doing good here on earth. We are more likely to serve
God in all we do because we are gifted by God with all the
abilities that the animals didn't have. We are special and we
must use our gifts to help others.
MATTHEW CHAPTER 4, VERSE 12-22
The richness of diverse communities can help us
understand others better but also ourselves.
LUKE CHAPTER 4, VERSE 14-15
The Saviour’s followers put the kingdom of God first and
reject the enticements of the fallen world. Nevertheless, we
all fall short through sin or neglect and suffer a measure of
separation from God
REFLECTION:
Serve God and do good here on earth because God gives us
a beautiful gift and that is our LIFE.
JESUS HEALS A PARALYZED MAN
MATTHEW CHAPTER 9, VERSE 1-8
A person becomes crippled because of sins. It blurs our eyes not
to see and covers our ears not to listen how God cares for each of us.
Then we become weak because we carry the loads of burdens which
sometimes are not our own. This gospel for reminds us to rise and
walk away from our dark room
LUKE CHAPTER 5, VERSE 17-26
Jesus forgives and we need to accept, forgive, and forget as He
does. Do not do to others what they did to you, be better. We
have read and learned something new from God and let us
remember that God is always with us
MARK CHAPTER 2, VERSE 1-12
Jesus relieves and forgives a disabled man of his sins. This shows
that God is willing to accept anybody who is willing to redeem
themselves for the greater good, for themselves, and for the people
around them
REFLECTION:
Always believe in God because nothing is impossible to him.
THE BAPTISM OF JESUS
MARK CHAPTER 1, VERSE 9-11
As we see Jesus as God, we should also recognize our need to
submit to Him. And submission to Christ impacts every area of life. To
follow Him as God is to obey Him fully and to follow Him at all costs.
MATTHEW CHAPTER 3, VERSE 13-17
Baptism is for the forgiveness of sin, yet Jesus is God's son and
therefore sinless. Jesus is the greater person John has been telling
people about, so John does not feel worthy to baptise him.
LUKE CHAPTER 3, VERSE 21-22
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as
he was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in
bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my
Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.
REFLECTION:
The baptized person is reborn (becomes a new creation) by receiving
the gift of Faith in Jesus Christ. - Baptized person becomes a Son or
Daughter of God through spiritual brotherhood with Jesus Christ
THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS
LUKE CHAPTER 4, VERSE 1-13
Jesus knew that he could not fight the temptations on his own and thus, relied
on the strength and wisdom Holy Spirit that led him through. Likewise, we
should rely on the Holy Spirit whenever we feel down and tempted for it will
lead us back towards the right path.
MATTHEW CHAPTER 4, VERSE 1-11
We are not greater than our Master. As the Spirit leads us, we too will be
tested. He will test us so sorely, that at times we will wonder if we have
correctly discerned the will of God. It will help us to see what Jesus said and
did under these circumstances.
MARK CHAPTER 1, VERSE 12-13
As Christians, we know that temptation toward sinful, illegal, or destructive
things needs to be resisted, and yet we often find ourselves losing the battle.
REFLECTION:
Overcoming temptation is to turn to Him in repentance and faith.
Acknowledge that only Jesus the Christ can make you right before God. He
died in your place to satisfy the just wrath of God against your sin, and He rose
from the dead to prove the debt was paid.
JESUS HEALS MANY PEOPLE
MATTHEW CHAPTER 8, VERSE 14-17
Jesus had the power to restore people to physical health as well
as spiritual wholeness. Matthew shows us that Jesus had these
powers as he retold the supernatural events of Chapter 8, beginning
with Jesus healing a leper, a paralytic, and a feverish woman, and
now in the evening Jesus casts out evil spirits.
LUKE CHAPTER 4, VERSE 38-40
This is clearly seen in his life. Now, as Lasallians we are also
called to have a good relationship with God through our prayers and
good works.
MARK CHAPTER 1, VERSE 29-34
The healing he has always brought forth is not limited to physical
relief, but was a healing of doubt, anxiety, guilt, and all that weighs
us down. He is the cure; a strengthening of ourselves that gives us a
lift to conquer today. His purpose of healing and enlightenment still
happens today.
REFLECTION:
Jesus provided miracles of healing, but the greatest healing He gives
is the salvation of souls.
