The IDEA upholds and protects the rights of infants,

toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities and


their families. In the last 40+ years, we have
advanced our expectations for all children, including
children with disabilities.

It shall be unlawful for any learning institutions to deny a


disabled person admission to any course it offers by reason of
handicap or disability. The State shall take into consideration
the special requirements of disabled persons in the formulation
of education policies and program.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act


(IDEA) is a law that makes available a free
appropriate public education to eligible children with
disabilities throughout the nation and ensures
special education and related services to those
children.
