Assignment #4- Rhythm.

Movement The Poem is supposed to describe the

movement of an Oldsmobile; the patern in
“Go Olds ‘60” which it does so is mainly trochaic, except
for one line in the last stanza.
Flight on wheels, the Rocket Olds.
Down the street, it glides. /u/u/u/
Steady as an Aero-Ship, /u/u/
It’s so swi and spry. /u/u/u/
/u/u/

/u/u/u/
High and low, through twists and turns /u/u/
’Round the clouds it goes. /u/u/u/
Lighng in the coton white, /u/u/
Quicker than you know.

/u/u/u/
Go Olds, go; you’ve done it now! /u/u/
Stars shine in the sky. u/uu/u/u/
The Rockeng Sixes has begun. /u/u/
Olds will be your guide.

(I guess it sounds like a car dealer explaining ride quality, “Go Olds ‘60” was Oldsmobile adversing 1960)

This poem was inspired by a 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 that I saw in person (above) that I wanted to
buy, as it was for sale, though I couldn’t buy it.
