Familism
This refers to the Filipino’s need for emotional stability and familial security.
For the Filipino, family is priority. That’s why he works hard in office, school,
farm and etc., forgetting things essential to family like socializing, enjoying,
and counseling.
Reciprocity (Utang na Loob)
Favor-gratitude value of the Filipinos. A filipino always expects gratitude
out of a favor ho does to someone.
Social Acceptance
This is a Filipino’s need to be accepted as a person, as subject and not as
an object.
Social Mobility
Refers to Filipino’s desire for progress and development. Despite the value
of close family ties, a Filipino is willing to go abroad for the sake of
possessing a decent or progress way of living.
Self-esteem
This need is evident in a Filipino’s desire to be respected particularly when
he has attained any achievement or success in life.
