My name is Anya I am 18 years old.

I go to the vocational school A Rimbaud, it is located in the

northern suburb of Paris. I am a Senior student: it is my third year, I am preparing a Vocational A
level in Customer Services.

Today I am going to present my PROJECT : MY BOOK JACKET

In a first part, I will present the general information about detective stories AND BOOK JACKETS.
In a second part, I will talk about THE DIFFERENT STEPS OF MY CREATION and I will DESCRIBE it.
Finally, I will conclude with the positive and negative aspects OF MY PROJECT and give my personal
opinion.
For my oral presentation, I will use MY BOOK JACKET ( ou : a mindmap).

Now my first part,

The elements of a book jacket are a title, the author’s name, a picture illustrating the story. On the
second page of the book jacket, we usually have the summary of the story, a small biography of the
author and we can also find the opinion of a newspaper. We also need to have the name of the editor.
To have a typical detective story, you need the following elements:
-a crime, it can be a murder, a kidnapping, a robbery…
-some typical characters such as the detective, the victim, some suspects, witnesses etc….
-The places are often the same, dark places for example.

Now my second part with the different steps and the description and presentation of my book jacket :

 In Step 1, I Created a mind-map with a title, my future characters, the places of action, the
time of events. I also chose the objects and the main actions in my story.
 In Step 2, I looked for ideas and I wrote the summary of the plot.
 In Step 3 I Selected my images to illustrate my book jacket.
Finally I used a website to create my book cover (donner le nom du site)

What I liked about this PROJECT ……(creation/discovery of something new/I love
detective stories/I learnt how to use canva or powerpoint…/
What I did not like : detective stories/difficult to create a story/ difficulties in the
creation of the jacket etc ….

To conclude, I would say that it was a very interesting/boring/long/nice(à ous de choisir ce que vous
voulez dire) work to do. I learnt how to use a new website and it gace me the desire to read a
detective story.
I found it very long and difficult and I don’t like detective stories, I prefer Science fiction or love
stories.
