HOW THE WORLD AND MANKIND WERE CREATED

Before the existence of the Gods, Goddesses, and Titans, there wasn’t any trace of life in the
universe. The only thing that was present was ironically the absence of everything. Cessation of life of
any form, or chaos as they call it. Nothing ever filled the void until such time that primordial beings
finally emerged. First to appear was Eros, the God of Love and Procreation. Second was Tartarus,
the original God of the Underworld- also known as the Abyss. Gaia was also part of the first Gods
who came from chaos along with Nyx (Goddess of Night) and Erebus (God of Darkness). Gaia was
the Goddess of Fertility and the personification of the Earth. Her ability gave life to the three
primordial deities namely: Pontus, the God of the Sea. Ourea, the Gods of Mountains. Uranus, the
God of the Heavens, father of the Titans and ruler of the world. The union of Gaia and Uranus
resulted to the birth of the twelve titans, as well as the creation of the two bizarre creatures: the
Hecatoncheires or the hundred-handed ones and the one-eyed Cyclops. Uranus’ cruelty and hate
towards his children influenced him to send them to the depths of the underworld, which angered
Gaia as it brought her pain in the stomach each time the titans called to get unleashed because then
again, they were also her children. She plotted against Uranus and no one but Cronus, the youngest
titan, braved to come after to overthrow their father. He obeyed his mother’s wish and arrived in the
heavens bringing a sickle that Gaia entrusted to him. As he landed, he found his father sleeping so he
immediately went on to castrate Uranus. The genitals then fell into the ocean, creating sea foam
where Aphrodite arose. His defeat led to the separation of the heavens and the Earth. Cronus freed
his siblings from the shackles of the underworld excluding the Hecatoncheires and the one-eyed
Cyclops, having the same worry his father had with the two creatures. The titans recognized Cronus
as their ruler. Assuring him of help to remain as the most powerful God in the world. He proceeded to
marry his own sister, Titaness Rhea. One day, when Cronus was alone, someone came to him and
told him a prophecy, some version implies it was not a prophecy but rather a curse bestowed upon
him by Uranus telling that his reign would end on the same fate as his father, he would be overthrown
by his own children. The thought couldn’t escape his mind. Madness and fear consumed Cronus, so
when their first child was born, he swallowed it. The other four of his children were no different, he
devoured them unreluctantly. Rhea was horrified. As a mother, she wasn’t feeling well about
everything that has been going on. She doesn’t want to sacrifice her last baby thus, she asked for
help, Gaia provided her of blackmagic that would make his husband believe that a disguised stone
was his child. The plan she plotted went successful. She went into exile and raised her youngest
child, Zeus, on the island of Crete. He grew stronger and wiser. Zeus became conscious of what
happened to his siblings hence he sought revenge. With the help of his future wife, Titaness Metis,
she prepared a drink that was almost similar to Cronus’ favorite wine, only it was intended for him to
vomit his five children. Zeus left the island and disguised himself as the cupbearer. Everything went
perfectly well when his father unwittingly sipped from the cup. Cronus finally spilled out his children
into the world: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon. Due to the greatness of Zeus, his
siblings and mother, Rhea recognized him as their King
