Scenariostuck Six

Scenariostuck Six is basically a tutorial for a player, seeing them rob a local purpleblood church.

This module is meant for a single player of level 1, with no alchemy.

Background

The player is aiming to break into a purpleblood church where a burial ceremony is being held
with gold implements that command a high price on the market.

There’s not a whole lot to it.

Overview

The player arrives at the church in the late night with an ally, ready to rob a church. The church
is locked, obviously. Once they make it inside, the passage downward to the catacombs is
guarded by a lusus. And past that, the gold trinkets just lie there, definitely not cursed in any
way.

Once they get the gold, the player will move to leave the church, just in time for its occupant to
return home for a confrontation.

Act.

The local church is, like many things in this town, not as impressive as social media and memes
would have you think. It’s hardly bigger than a regular coldblood’s hive; there are skulls hanging
on the fence posts, blood on the walls, and candlelight inside. You’d be forgiven for thinking it’s
just a regular purpleblood’s hive.

The player stands at the front yard of the church. The church is, obviously, locked.

There are multiple ways the player can get inside.

● The player can pick the door with a DC 10 Sleight of Hand check.
○ If they pass a DC 10 Engineering check to identify the lock, they have advantage
on the Sleight of Hand check.
● The player can climb up to the roof and through the open bell tower with a DC 10
Athletics check.
○ If the player has a hookchain, rope, or something to let them climb, they do this
automatically.
● The player can break down the door automatically.

Once inside, the supposed church seems more like a small dining hall with chairs and rugs
arranged to form makeshift pews, on either side of a carpet-laid passage down to the podium, a
handmade wooden thing stained with Faygo, blood, and a skinned… hope that’s not troll skin.
Behind a screen to the far right corner is a stairway that leads down.

Down the stairway is a kitchen, an elderly-looking wolf lusus sleeping on the tiles in front of an
empty food bowl.

The player will have to get past the wolf somehow.

● The player can sneak past it with a DC 10 Stealth check.
● The player can soothe it with a DC 15 Animal Handling check.
○ If the player has food to offer, reduced to DC 10.
● The player can scare the wolf down with a DC 15 Intimidation check.
● The player can fight and slay the wolf. Use the Wolf statline from the Miscellaneous
section.

Past the kitchen and down a corridor is three doors. The one on the left is the bathroom, the right
a small bedroom. These two don’t do anything in and of themselves, though it may clue in the
player that this actually is some purpleblood’s hive.

The middle door leads into a cremation room, the back wall torn away and the underlying stone
carved into to create a crude furnace and shelves for skulls and bones. Several skulls, horns, and
bones adorn the shelves, while murals of grub blood, nails from which tools and aprons hang,
and little alcoves with crusted candle wax are on the walls.

In the center of the room is a slab with a dead purpleblood, covered in paint and ornaments. The
latter are made of gold and is the reason the player is here.

If the player is suspicious, they can try checking the corpse.

● The player can spot the hallucinogenic gas packets under the ornaments with a DC 15
Investigation or Perception check.
● The player can remember that there’s hallucinogens involved in the funeral rites with a
DC 15 Occult check.

If they succeed, they can trip the gas intentionally to avoid breathing in it. Otherwise, the gas
triggers when they pick up the gold.
● The player can make a DC 10 Endurance or Sanity check to shrug off the worst of the
effects, only taking 4 damage.
● The player makes a DC 10 Medicine check to identify the chemicals used, counteracting
it by pinching certain veins.
● The player takes the full brunt of it, taking 7 damage and a level of exhaustion.

Once they have the gold, they can make their way out of this place. Right as they move to leave,
they hear someone come in and the lusus immediately rushes up the stairs. The purpleblood’s
chosen this time to return home.

There’s several options for dealing with this.

● The player can sneak around them with a DC 10 Stealth check.
● The player can deceive the purpleblood with some farfetched lie with a social encounter,
DC 15.
● The player can fight the purpleblood.
○ They don’t even need to win, only escape. Though not every player may realize
that. Don’t point this out to them. Bring it up after the fact as a lesson.

If the player broke down the door or killed the lusus, the skill check options are made at
disadvantage.

Once the player leaves out the door and off the yard, they’ve made it out with gold in sylladex.
Congrats, tutorial’s complete.
