the people look miserable (poor) ………………… and exhausted. They are usually trapped (cannot go out)
……………………. there. They just don’t have the economic resources (money) ………………..to leave.
(And how you felt about it) I wanted to leave immediately. My eyes were stinging (your eyes get a sharp and pain)
……………………and my throat was sore. All my clothes stank (produce bad smell) …………………. and I
couldn’t wait to see some greenery. The minute my last engagement finished, I jumped into a taxi and was
on the first train out of there. Nothing on earth would induce (encourage) ………………. me to return.
