In this solitaire mode, you will play against an automated

opponent. Optional rules (+) allow you to adjust the

opponent for greater difficulty. You will also need a six-
sided die.

Set up the game as you would for 2 players, including a

random start player. Place the opponent’s hand face-down
with the cards separated as shown.

+ Renowned Warrior: You face no nameless Viking but a

known hero. Your opponent begins with 3 Reputation,
earning 1 Victory Point each turn.
+ Heirloom: If you want to use Artifacts, draw one
randomly and place it in front of you. Only you will be able
to utilize this Artifact.
+ Jarl: If you are using the Heirloom rule above, it is
recommended to use this optional rule for a tougher
opponent to compensate. The Jarl begins with a random
Trading Lands (y) from the top of the deck, improving their
trading.

Play proceeds and ends as normal. On the opponent’s turn,
perform the following three steps.
❶ Check for Exploration: See if the opponent can Explore.
The opponent only ever explores Lands of Influence (B).
Remember to check the opponent’s Recruit tokens.
If the opponent can Explore, they take the Destination
worth the most victory points that they can pay for. If
multiple cards are worth equal points, the opponent uses
the following priority based on immediate asset rewards:

To pay for the Destination, the opponent spends Recruit
tokens before discarding Vikings. When discarding Vikings
to pay for a Destination card, the opponent keeps cards
using the above priority if it has the option.
❷ If the opponent cannot Explore, it will Recruit. Roll the
six-sided die. The die result, as shown below, is the card the
opponent plays face-up into their Crew Zone, earning
assets as normal.

The opponent then takes the Viking from the main board
space matching the color of the one they Recruited. Place
this new Viking face-down into the empty hand slot.
❸ If the opponent has 3 Silver Bracelets, they will spend
them to Trade and earn their Trade rewards.
+ Last Trade: If it’s the opponent’s final turn of the game,
they spend any remaining Silver Bracelets to Trade even if
they don’t have 3 Silver Bracelets.
