 The Slumber Party

Mr. Armand and Mary Monteniero belongs to the

elite family. They owned a big company in Cebu City.
They live in Aguila Village where only rich people can
afford. They have two daughters and a son named Felina,
Marco and Felicity. Felina is twenty-three years old and
working as a manager in one of their companies. Marco
is eighteen years old and still studying in one of the
prestigious schools in Cebu. Felicity is fifteen years old
and a Grade 10 student in one of the expensive schools
also. Though they are rich, their parents thought them
good values. They did not think that they are rich. They
are all generous and kind-hearted.
Felicity has a bestfriend named Cheska. Cheska’s
parents are working abroad. She is with her older sister
and an Aunt as their guardian. Cheska loves to organize
slumber parties. One day, she invited Felicity and her
close friends including the boys for an overnight party.
 ”Felicity, I am going to have
a slumber party this weekend and you are invited,
Cheska said.” At first, Felicity is hesitant to say, “ Yes “
to her bestfriend because it is her first time to join such
party. “ I need to ask permission first to my Mom and
Dad, Felicity answered.”
So, Felicity asked her parents when she got home. “
Mom, Dad, can I join to Cheska’s slumber party this
weekend? she asked.” It’s okey, as long as you know
your limitations, her Dad answered.” “I promise to
behave Dad, she answered.” Her parents permitted her
to join but she lets her promise to remember the do’s
and dont’s always and she has to be safe at all times.
The day came, Felicity is very excited. She wakes up
very early and prepares her things for the slumber
party. Her parents bring her to Cheska’s house at seven
in the evening.
 “ Invited friends are coming soon Felicity, let’s wait
for them at the door, Cheska said.” Few minutes later,
her friends are coming over. Food, fun, more talks,
acquintances and pillow fights are expected in the
party. “ What a great party Ches, Felicity said with a
smile.” Thank you Fel, Cheska answered.”
A boy approach them, “Hi Cheska, thank you for
inviting me, Raymond said.” Your party is indeed full
of fun.” “By the way, May I know the name of your
friend?” Oh, Hi Raymond, this is my bestfriend
Felicity.” Felicity meet my friend, Raymond.” “Hi
Felicity,nice to meet you!” “ Hi Raymond, nice to meet
you too!” Oh, you two stay here, I will check my other
friends over there, Cheska smiled.” ( By the way,
Raymond is eighteen years old. )
 After their acquintance, the two are inseparable.
They talk, laugh and eat together. It is obvious that both
of them are attracted to each other. They even exchange
their phone numbers and promise to chitchat every now
and then over the phone and meet somewhere after
school.
Cheska’s slumber party was full of fun. There were
lots of food, music, dance, laughters, games and pillow
fights. Cheska’s sister and her Aunt were there to look
after them. But part of the party was a short talk from
Cheska’s sister. She advised that they have to enjoy
every moment of the party but they have to put
limitations to their actions. No to boy and girl partners;
and they have to stay in the group. She added that one
must be responsible of his/her actions. The slumber
party ended very late.
 Felicity was fetched by her Dad and her brother
the following morning. She bids goodbye to Cheska, to
her sister and to her Aunt. The three of them said
“Thank you” to Cheska’s family.
At the car, Mr. Armand and Marco asked Felicity
about the party. “Did you enjoy the party Fel?” “Yes
Dad!” “How I wish I can organize the same slumber
party too!” Did you meet new friends Fel? Marco
asked” “Yes, of course Kuya!” “Then, how was it?
Marco asked with a sarcastic smile.” Felicity smiled
back to his Kuya Marco.
Soon after, Raymond and Felicity always talk over
the phone. They send sweet messages with each other
often through Messenger. They are updated with each
others’ whereabouts because they are friends on
Facebook. Felina noticed the little changes on her
sister after the slumber party. She even caught her
smiling alone, day dreaming and likes to beautify
herself too. Felicity sometimes asked her about her
crushes before. She even asked her Ate how young she
was when she had her first boyfriend. She asked her
Ate too of so many things about boyfriend thingy. In
short, she is very curious of that little thing called love.
Her Ate told her that if she likes someone it is a
natural feeling and it is called a puppy love since she is
very young. Felina even told her not to keep secrets
and that she is always there to listen to her no matter
what it is, no matter how busy she is. Felicity slept that
night with a smile on her face.
 One day, Mr. and Mrs. Monteniero need to go to
Singapore for a month for a business trip. They leave
Felicity with the care of her Ate, Kuya and nannies.
The next day, Felicity asks her sister if she could
have a slumber party at home. Her Ate and Kuya
agreed since it will be held on a weekend.
With this, Felicity invited her friends including
Raymond and Cheska. She was so excited to host the
party. She prepares many things with the help of her
siblings and nannies.
The night came and her visitors were coming. The
party started right away. Delicious foods are served.
The venue was great for the party since they have a
huge house. Everyone was enjoying especially Felicity
because Raymond was there.
 While everybody is enjoying, Raymond got the
chance to get closer to Felicity. He started expressing his
feelings to her; how he likes her looks and how she does
things. He says all the nicest things to her. Felicity feels
like she is in heaven. She believes all the things Raymond
has been said. They were talking far from their friends
and away from the noisy music. Raymond started to
hold her hands and stared at her seriously and said, “ I
like you Fel.” He tried to kiss her on her lips. Felicity is
getting nervous and her hands are shaking and very cold
but she insisted not to go with the flow of her emotions.
She moved back, smiled at him and told him that she
likes him too. Raymond was so happy knowing that
Felicity likes him too. And he said sorry for the move he
did a while ago.
The night was getting late so they went back to the
party and hang out with their friends now. But the two
lovers are still inseparable. Felina noticed the two love
birds and tried to talk to them in private.
 She told Fellicity that she is still young to have a
serious relationship. She also advised Raymond not to
abuse the innocence of her sister. She said that Felicity is
still in her minor age and needs guidance. “Enjoy the
moment with friends now. Do not go beyond the limits as
if the world revolves around you only, she told them
seriously but calmly.” She even told Raymond that if he
really loves her sister he has to wait until Felicity reaches
her legal age. The two lovers went back to their friends
with a smile on their faces. They understand what Felina
told them.
Raymond and Felicity enjoy the Slumber Parties. Not
only that, they also learn many things.
Moral lesson: Always listen to the advises of the
elders.
