Mid-term Test and Final Test
In the 8th (16 Apr 2024) and 13th (21 May 2024) class, a mid-term test and a final test will be
conducted to test whether the intended learning outcomes are achieved. Students will be tested
along all the cognitive domains under the topics of corporate finance.

The mid-term test questions will be discussed during next class and answers will be provided at
NTULearn. The distribution and statistics of the test marks for the whole class will be reported
during lecture.

Assignments Presentation
Assignments – How it works.
1. After each lecture, four questions will be provided in an assignment set for discussion in the
following class. Students have been divided into four groups. Students in group N always
present question N, where N = 1, 2, 3 and 4. Difficulty of questions alters each time so that on
average each group will handle similar difficulty over the semester.
2. Each time TWO or THREE students from each group present their group answer to the
corresponding question. Each student should present at least TWICE throughout the course.
3. Students should prepare slides for presentation during the presentation. Each group will have 8
minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A with other students and the instructor. Students
need to email the instructor their slides right after the presentation so that the slides will be
uploaded to NTULearn for the rest of the class to share and learn.
4. Students from the same group will be awarded the same mark conditional on contribution to
the group work. The student who presents will get an extra bonus mark on top of the group mark
if he delivers an exceptionally good presentation. Marks are granted according to both the
content of the answer and the effectiveness of the presentation.
5. The default assumption is that each and every team member contributes to the teamwork with
their best capability. To prevent free-riders and to reward extra contributors, students have the
right to email instructors any time for complaints and for compliments. After investigation, if the
complaint or the compliment is verified, punishment or bonus points will be applied.
